11/14/06 A Special Tribute
The 2006 season provided challenges for the Varsity team, and they were able to overcome the loss of key players and the forfeiture of 6 league matches. Senior and Team Captain Phoebe Bautista recognized the strengths in each of her remaining teammates and utilized those skills during the games. Her determination kept the team focused and completed the second half of the season with a 7-1 run, and finished with a 7-7 league record. At the last home game, Varsity and Junior Varsity teammates gave tribute to Phoebe, and Seniors Edvina Husejinovic and Azra Vejzovic. Phoebe was voted ACCAL All-League Player of the Year, and made 1st Team. Azra made 2nd Team along with Junior Gabby Yarra, and Sophomores Ajka Fejzic and Kaity Sutter.
